It’s the FaceBook-pocalypse! Many of us woke up this morning to discover a ton of FaceBook rooms dedicated to couponing have been shut down. It’s not immediately clear why exactly this happened but it seems like these rooms were probably doing a few things wrong.
I’ve been in enough of these FaceBook rooms to know that there are a TON of things happening that shouldn’t be happening, usually with the admins approval. Here’s what I have seen go down in many rooms.
- Coupon selling/trading – Although this seems like an incredibly minor infraction, it is technically against the “rules”
- Blatant fraud – I’ve seen rooms encourage their followers to price match or use coupons in incorrect ways. The most obvious room would tell their readers to PM the “lowest price” at Walmart which was code for the price listed after a coupon or other discount was taken off. I cover that here.
- Coupon Misuse – Expiration dates and written guidelines for how a coupon is to be used are printed on the coupon for a reason. A coupon for Tide with Oxi shouldn’t be used on a regular bottle of Tide. These rooms have told their readers to misuse coupons and pitch a fit if a cahier says something about it.
This is just a taste of what was going on and it’s probably a good thing it happened. Of course, none of our rooms were affected because we don’t allow any of that mess but you might not know about all of our rooms and what they do. Here’s a list.

Grocery Shop for FREE Couponing Class – We teach FREE online couponing classes and this room is where that info is posted and where newbies can ask their questions without fear of anyone thinking less of them.
