Remember that EBT Snafu that led to Walmart’s being almost destroyed, closed down, and their shelves stripped bare?  Guess who gets to foot the bill for that.  That’s right, Walmart.

And it look like they might deserve it.  Turns out there are emergency procedures that limit EBT transactions to $50 in situations like this but Walmart ignored them and let people charge whatever they wanted.  They claim it was because they didn’t want people to not get food they needed for their families but most people were taking out more food than they could fit in their fridges.  In fact, it turns out that other area grocery stores followed the correct procedures and limited transactions to $50.

What do you think?  Is it fair that Walmart foot the bill or should the Government?  Or should they just take the money spent from each person’s account every month until it is paid off.
