Walmart Tweaks Their Ad Match Policy Again!
Walmart has added a few lines to the Walmart Ad Match Policy. Here is the new section.
The following are guidelines and limitations:
- We will match any local competitor’s advertised price.
- We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor’s ad; but we do require the store to verify the ad if there is a difference in price greater than 25% from the competitor.
- The system will prompt for supervisor verification at a 50% reduction in price or greater.
- Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.). No substitutions
- In all situations Walmart reserves the right to limit BOGO quantities to one per customer or household
The big change here is that if you ask for an ad match that drops the price more than 25%, the associate will have to check the price and not just take your word for it. If you ask for a greater than 50%, a supervisor will have to ok the transaction for you to complete it.
Hopefully this will stop associates from asking to see the ad when you are asking for a $.20 reduction in a can of pork and beans.

And so now the lines will get even longer. This is super irritating, I wish that Target would build more stores. They are so much better

I’m wondering if the register will prompt them or is this something that the cashiers will have to responsible for? I always thought that if it 50% off or more it’s asks for a csm automatically.

I was told today they will not ad match local store if i want the saving I have to sing up for savings catcher.

I don’t know as a change in policy will affect anything in my area as the cashiers and csm’s seem to create their own rules. I’ve had the same csm tell me one thing, and 3 days later totally contradict themselves. Each time I go it’s totally different and they blatantly refuse to look at the P&P’s that I have printed from their own site. I call corporate after each issue now. It takes so much time to clip, match, shop, and get through the register to have the cashier or csm just create their own rules. If couponing and pm’g didn’t save my bottom each month, I wouldn’t do it bec of the stress alone. Thank you for your updates and keeping me in the loop. I try to be prepared.
