When we think about easy and inexpensive meals the whole family loves we automatically go for this Walmart Price Match Recipe: Taco Frito Pie.  Instead of the traditional chili and cheese found we dress this up with taco seasoned meat, beans, lettuce, tomato and cheese for a mix that is a cross between a Frito Pie and a Taco Salad.  It is not only yummy but inexpensive and a great way to stretch the budget on meat in an evening meal.

WALMART PRICE MATCH RECIPE: TACO FRITO PIE

Walmart Price Match Recipe: Taco Frito Pie

Ingredients
  • 1 10.25oz Bag Frito Chips
  • 1 Pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 Can Pinto Beans Drained
  • 1 Packet Taco Seasoning
  • 3 Cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 Medium Tomato Diced
  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Lime, Sour Cream, Black Olives, Salsa, Avocado as optional garnish
Instructions
  1. In large skillet cook ground turkey over medium high heat until browned. Mix in taco seasoning and cook as directed on package.
  2. In large bowl crunch fritos until they are slightly broken leaving some pieces whole but most crushed slightly.
  3. Mix in ground meat, drained pinto beans, half of cheese lettuce, and tomato until incorporated well.
  4. Makes 4 servings that can be topped with remaining cheese and other toppings as desired.
