My area doesn’t get an El Rancho ad, but we do get Fiesta. The bone/skinless fryer breast was on sale for $1.29/lb. Is fryer breast and chicken breast the same thing? Sorry if that’s a stupid question.
Aarn Farmer
I think so.
Jo
I thought I was doing great but there was no playdoh, no Kettle Chips,no Febreze in the Christmas isle markdowns and no markdown zip loc bags. Still saved $26 on $58! LOVE IT!
Aarn Farmer
That’s great!

Hubby & I just got home from shopping at our local Walmart (Wilmington, Ohio). This Walmart is NOT coupon friendly at all & cashiers are very rude. Not only our cashier didn’t accept our coupons for Reach Floss & Schick disposable razors (final price after coupons: FREE), she wrung one of our items twice!!! Good thing we checked our receipt before leaving the store. We went back to the cashier but she told us to go to customer service to fix it! No “sorry” for the hassle from her. We went to the customer service & explain the whole scenario to her. And nope, no “sorry” from their customer service too. Bad customer service in WALMART Wilmington, Ohio.
Aarn Farmer
That’s a shame, I hate hearing stories like that.
Sandy
If that happens to me at my WalMart. I will be reporting it to the company. There is no sense to act so rude to the people that is paying for you to check them out.I have heard of cases like this. I don’t like to shop at WalMart that much I am from Tn. Don’t let them run over you.
Aarn Farmer
Exactly. You’d be surprised how effective a quick phone call to the home office is.

I got: 10 boxes of GM cereal, 4 tubes of Colgate toothpaste and 4 Colgate toothbrushes. A regular priced bill of $68.97 for $19.65!! I can’t remember how to figure my percent of savings but I did pretty well.
Aarn Farmer
I almost got the cereal too but it never lasts so I’m always reluctant to get it.
Tonya
I am so jealous! I only wish I could do that…
Thats awesome!
Aarn Farmer
It’s not that hard, if you need help I can answer any questions.
Tonya
Well I’ve just started and getting the hang of how things work. I think the thing that is the hardest for me is finding the good deals to go with the coupons that I have, it has to be placed out in front of me in order for me to see it.
Aarn Farmer
I think that’s he problem most of us have. That’s why I do my Reverse Coupon Matchups and Price Match Lists so you can have all that info on the same page. The feedback I get from those is overwhelmingly positive.
Diane
Yes this is greatly appreciated. Saves me so much time, with a lil one teething often, prevents possible meltdowns, I am able get in and get out much quicker. Thank You again Aarn!!

Follow Aarn’s lead. That’s how I started. And always, always, always use the coupon database! The only problem I encounter is he’s in the south (I’m in Chicago). Many times we don’t get the same deals but many times we do! And don’t be afraid to ask questions. Aarn is the best out there for answering quickly and precisely. Plus there’s the great vod casts! Happy couponing!
Aarn Farmer
Thanks for the kind words!
Dana G.
Hey, Aarn, how’d you get 6 packs of Play Doh when the coupon says 4 packs? My WalMart would never in a million years do that! They examine the coupon with eagle eyes before they even swipe it. Oh the joy they get when they can announce to the world that you didn’t get the right thing! They’re really pushing me hard to Target!
Aarn Farmer
Sorry if I was unclear. I got 6 4pks, not 6pks.
Amie
Although I am not a huge Wal-Mart fan in general, I have really started price matching since finding your blog. It wasn’t something I’d really given much thought to, but now I frequently price match grocery items from drug store ads since often the stores run out or have quick expiration dates and Wal-Mart does not. I also price match my local grocery store if there are no double coupons involved. Thank you for saving me time and money. 🙂
Aarn Farmer
I’m glad I could help! Walmart is called the Saving Place for a reason!
Diane
Aarn How do you calculate total savings? Does that include what you saved with price matching plus coupon savings? Not sure?? The best I have ever done was a couple weeks ago. 101 bucks in just coupon saving not including the price matching. it went from 138.02 to to 48.62 after coupons. 89 items and paid 54 cents per item if I divide. That is another way I look at my savings. Is this an accurate measure? Math is not a strong area for me. Please let me know.
Diane
oops 149.01 to 48.62
Aarn Farmer
I calculate total savings by adding up what I would have paid if I bought everything at full price without sales, coupons, or price matches and subtracting what I actually paid.
Diane
Ok thanks. The only problem for me is when I price match an item, I dont pay attention to the original price. Also how do you calculate the percentage saved. could you write in a formula?
Aarn Farmer
Amount Saved divided by total price before savings.
If you bought $100 worth of stuff for $20 it would be 80/100 = .8 = 80%
Diane
Thank you so much for explaining this.

Great! I just ordered some coupons, I got them for free on my exchange here on Ft. Hood but I don’t know how long the sale is going to last because is not advertised!
Grocery Shop For Free at The Mart via Facebook
Be careful, there are two different coupons. One for the singles and another for the multipacks.
Darlene Torres via Facebook
Yes I was looking very careful
