A new coupon for Hormel Always Tender Pork Roasts came out the other day and I thought I’d try it out. I had tried their Pork Loins before but never had their roast so I was pretty excited. Plus I spent about 3 hours and about 6 trips to the hardware store hooking my gas grill to my gas line so I was anxious to fire it up.
I found a website that suggest using a 7-6-5 method where you cook it on one side for 7 minutes, the other side of 6 minutes, then turn the grill off and let it sit in the closed grill for 5 minutes to finish cooking. I didn’t turn the grill off totally because it was pretty cold so I just put on low for 5 minutes.
While all that was going on I made one of my favorite sides; onions, Bell Peppers, mushrooms and a little garlic cooked in wine and Parmesan Cheese. I also steamed a few carrots.
After I finished that I went to check on the roast and it wasn’t even CLOSE to done. I fired up the grill to about medium and cooked it for another 5 minutes on each side to finish it but unfortunately all my sides were a little cold. However, the Pork roast made up for it by being incredibly tender and juicy. It was a great start for my new grill and made for a fantastic dinner.
